Happy Choti Diwali 2024 : Choti Diwali, also known as Narak Chaturdashi or Roop Chaturdashi, is a significant day that falls a day before the grand festival of Diwali. It holds its unique significance in the array of Diwali celebrations and is observed with various rituals and customs.

Choti Diwali is associated with various legends and mythological stories. One popular legend is the defeat of the demon Narakasura by Lord Krishna. Choti Diwali is observed with certain rituals that include early morning oil baths, known as ‘abhyang snan,’ wherein people apply oil on their bodies before bathing. The evening of Choti Diwali is when the celebrations gain momentum. Traditional Practices:
In some regions, there are specific rituals observed on Choti Diwali. People create small effigies of Narakasura using waste materials, which are later burnt to symbolize the destruction of evil forces. Fireworks and crackers are also used to add to the joyous atmosphere, commemorating the victory of good over evil.

Choti Diwali is a time for families to come together, share festive meals, exchange greetings, and strengthen bonds. It’s a day to express gratitude, seek blessings, and spend quality time with loved ones.
Significance of Abhyang Snan:
The practice of abhyang snan on Choti Diwali holds immense significance. It is believe that taking an oil bath helps in cleansing and purifying the body and mind. It is said to rid oneself of negative energies and brings in positivity, promoting good health and well-being.
